Ardencote Dinner Dance - 14^th November 2009.

You have until Wednesday to buy your ticket!

Tickets are available by completing the attached slip and returning it to the office or from a committee member. Tickets are £25 each and include arrival drink, dinner and a disco. Dress to impress, black tie is optional.

**NON-UNIFORM DAY** Friday 13^th November.

Mrs Gover has kindly agreed that our children may attend school in non-uniform on this day in return for donating an item (or items) for our Christmas Hampers. Usual items are food/ drinks to be included in our festive hampers. Items can be placed given to your child's teacher.

Parental Questionnaires.

Please spend five minutes to complete this for us. It will help us tailor events that suit you and your family and help us ensure we spend any money we raise on items you, as parents, want. Thank you.

Christmas Fun Fridays.

Yes it’s that time of year again!  Reception will start us off by hosting their Fun Friday in the playground, after school next Friday, 13^th November.

Bags 2 School.

Bags will shortly be distributed via your child. Please fill your bag with unwanted clothes and linen and deposit it at the top of Breach Lane where it meets Langley Road from 8am on 25^th November. Please do not bring your unwanted items into school as we do not have space to store items. Many thanks.

Claverdon Church Christmas Fete.

This is on Saturday 28^th November at the Church Centre. Your PTA will be hosting a Rock Stall selling crystals, rocks, minerals and even sharks teeth! Please put this date in your diary and come along to support us.

Christmas Production Support.

This year, in the same way as previous years, we will be selling refreshments at our Christmas Productions. If you are able to assist us with this please let a committee member know as soon as possible.

Thank You to everyone who organised and supported our Quiz Night last Friday!

Everyone had a great evening. We will shortly let you know how much money we raised by hosting the evening.

This promises to be a fantastic night out so please come along and enjoy yourself whilst supporting your school.

Voucher Schemes.

Currently we are collecting the following vouchers- collection boxes are situated opposite the library in school or there is box at the Community Shop.

Morrisons Let’s Grow ’09 scheme.

A huge range of gardening items are available via collecting tokens for purchases in excess of £10 e.g. garden tools, compost, seeds, even sheds!

Tokens will be issued until 01/11/2009 and school needs to receive all tokens by 13 November to be able to make the order deadline.

Books for Schools.

The Times is running a scheme whereby vouchers from various Times papers can be redeemed for books for the school. Please look out for these and cut them out. Vouchers will be issued until 6 December this year.

Nestle Box Tops for Books.

We can obtain good quality Dorling Kindersley books for the school by collecting Nestle cereal box tops. This scheme is ongoing until next March so please don’t forget to cut the voucher off the top of nestle cereal boxes and bring them to school by 12 March 2010.

Parental Questionnaires.

Hopefully everyone received a parental questionnaire with last week’s newsletter. If you did not receive one please ask at the school office for a copy of it. Please try and spend five minutes over the half term break to complete this for us. It will help us tailor events that suit you and your family and help us ensure we spend any money we raise on items you, as parents want. Thank you.

The school raises a lot of money for books for the library, so if you want to get some new books at the moment or an award for a great effort after the parents evening, please come along and buy a book!

The PTA support the event by helping to man the stall. Taking payment for books – that is all. So YEAR REPS please could you get 2 volunteers from each year group as below to assist on the stall from 3.15-3.45 maximum.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

Thanks to Louise and Clare for helping me with the serving of cakes and drinks. The two events combined raised a total of £65.15. So thanks to everyone who supplied cakes or bought them. I will be forwarding the money on to the charity this week.

We are currently looking at getting a PTA notice board mounted on the brick wall inside the school gates. This is so that we can advertise functions and display meeting minutes and copies of letters.

Dear All,

Please come to the PTA meeting at the Crown Inn on Monday, September 21^st @ 7.30pm. We will be running through funding requests and the schedule of fun activities that we are proposing for this school year! Parental support is vital. We are on the look-out for new helpers and the odd vice-chair so don’t be shy. We will send out the timetable once agreed in next week’s newsletter.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING SEPTEMBER 25^TH AFTER FAMILY ASSEMBLY / TREAT FRIDAY AFTERNOON

To support “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2009” we are holding the above event. So why not stay after the assembly for some refreshments and help raise some money for a worthwhile charity. Any donations of cakes and biscuits and help would be much appreciated. Please drop them in to the school office on Friday morning. If you cannot attend we will also be holding an extra TREAT FRIDAY and monies raised will go to the charity. Any questions please ask Sara.

FAMILY BINGO AFTERNOON

This will be held at the Claverdon Church Centre on Sunday 27^th September at 3.30 – 5.30pm. Tickets are £3.00 each (pre-school children are free). This includes four games of Bingo with prizes within each game upon completion of a line and a full house! Coffee/Tea and Cake will be available to purchase as will drinks and snacks for the children. Tickets available by completing the attached slip and returning it to the office. Your tickets will then be sent home with your child. Tickets are selling fast so don’t leave it too late! Tickets will not be available on the door. Please come and support your school whilst having a fun family afternoon. Any questions please ask Claire or Sara. (Cheques payable to Claverdon School PTA)
