Christmas Chocolate Fridays

By the time you read this, we will have finished this year’s sale of chocolate Christmas goodies – many, many thanks to everyone who has supported all the sales and well done to Year 5 who raised £87.33 last week.  We’ll confirm the final total next term.

School Christmas Performances

Thanks to all who helped with the refreshments and supported the raffles at the School Christmas performances.  We’ll be able to let you know how much has been raised early next term.

Don’t throw away unwanted phones over the Christmas season- they will help you obtain prizes and raise funds next term … details will follow.

Next PTA Meeting

This is on the 19th January, at school. Please feel free to come along and express your views on how we can raise further funds/spend funds raised to date.

The Strictly FoAYFC Ball is Back!...and it’s a ball with a difference.

Why?

There will be a band playing ballroom music for you to dance to.

But you can’t dance?

That’s ok; there will be 8 ballroom lessons prior to the ball for you to learn the basics or to refresh those steps that you already know.

All a bit serious?

Not at all, its great fun.

Want to know more?

The lessons start in March and the ball is on Saturday May 16th 2009.

Children’s Christmas Disco: Tuesday 16th December

The Infants disco will be from 6.15 to 7.15pm and the junior disco from 7.30 to 8.30pm.  Please complete the form below and return it to school as soon as possible with £2.50 per child (Cheques to Claverdon School PTA please).  Volunteers to assist are still needed; please indicate if you can help on the form below.

If a signed Consent Form is not received prior to the Disco then due to Health and Safety your child will not be able to come and join in.

Christmas Disco Arrangements:

  • The discos will be held in the School’s main hall.
  • Children must be checked in and out of the disco.

Infant Disco

  • Starts at 6.15pm.
  • Children will enter through the side entrance by CLASS 3 class room, and will be directed to the relevant check-in table in the corridor for their year.
  • Once checked in, Children can then go into the main hall.
  • At the end of the disco (7.15pm), the children should go to their own classrooms and wait there for collection by their parents/carers. Children must be checked out into their parents/carers care by the volunteers. Children and parents to leave by ‘back doors’.
  • Drinks and sweets will be provided in each class room.

Junior Disco

  • Starts at 7.30pm.
  • Junior children will enter through side entrance by CLASS3 class room, and will be directed to the relevant check-in table in the corridor for their year.
  • Once checked in, Children can then go into the main hall.
  • At the end of the disco (8.15pm), the children should go to the following classrooms for and wait there for collection by their parents/carers.

Year 3 go to Reception classroom
Year 4 go to Year 2 classroom
Year 5 and Year 6 go to Year 1 classroom

Children must be checked out into their parents/carers care by the volunteers. Children and parents to leave by ‘back doors’.

Drinks and sweets will be provided in each class room

Parents Refreshments

During the discos, parents may wait in the area outside Year 2’s classroom, where light refreshments will be available.

Any Junior children present in school during the Infant disco must remain with their parents/carers – the PTA can not be responsible for these, nor for any Infant children present during the Junior disco.

This is something that the PTA will be promoting in the New Year. Details will follow but at this time we wanted to ask everyone to keep any unwanted phones – especially if new ones are received as presents for Christmas.

Christmas Fridays

santa2This week Year 4 raised £49.45. Thank you and well done to everyone who made/bought cakes. Today, it is Year 5’s turn and next week it is Year 6 on Thursday afternoon.

Last week Reception raised £75.40. Thank you to everyone who made/ bought cakes. This week it is Year 4 followed by Year 5 next week.

School Christmas Performances

For every performance volunteers are needed to assist with refreshments. If you are able to help please see your class rep or Natasha Butler. Everything would be provided for you it is simply a matter of pouring tea/ coffee/ mulled wine!

Results!!!

Ladies Night

This raised approx £300 so a big thank you to everyone who participated and also to Sian and Eleanor for all their hard work in organising such an enjoyable evening.

Bags2school

This raised £288 which was brilliant. Just shows what results a clear out can bring. Thank you to everyone who brought unwanted clothes to school.
