PTA Meeting 1st December 2008 @ 7.30pm

The next meeting is on Monday night at school. All are welcome. We would welcome any ideas for future fundraising events/ or feed back on what you as parents would like to see PTA money spent on. If you are unable to come to a meeting them please feel free to speak to a committee member- contact details are below.

'New Parent Coffee Morning'

The PTA is thinking of holding a new parent coffee morning to answer any unanswered questions. Feedback on whether a daytime or evening is better and if it's worthwhile is needed. A text or email response to any of us would be appreciated.

Christmas Fridays

Last week year 1 raised £66.26. Thank you to everyone who made/ bought cakes.

This week it is Reception’s turn.

Infants

8th pm, 9th pm, 11th pm at 1.45pm

Juniors

8th eve, 9th eve, 11th eve at 7.00pm

If you are able to help with refreshments etc please volunteer.

Hampers

If you do have any donations of food or drink suitable to go in the hampers, (to be raffled at each of the performances), the last day for bringing these into School is Monday 1st December. There is a box in every classroom. All donations greatly received.

Children’s Christmas Disco: Tuesday 16th December

To reiterate for everyone, the Infants disco will be from 6.15 to 7.15pm and the junior disco from 7.30 to 8.30pm. Please complete the form below and return it to school as soon as possible with £2.50 per child (cheques to Claverdon School PTA please).

Volunteers to help on the night are needed so that the children can be safely registered and checked out, and supervised during the event. Please indicate on the form if you can help, or let Claire Williams know (01926 492754).

PTA Meeting 1st Dec 2008 @ 7.30pm

A reminder that the next meeting will take place on 1st December at school. Please come along and give your support/ideas to the new committee. All are welcome.

Over the last year our children have benefited greatly from the money raised by the PTA. Since September, radio microphones to assist with assemblies/ performances have been purchased as has a bird box with a web cam installed. This will enable our children to watch activity in the bird box on the TV screen in the IT suite. Mrs Pilling is monitoring progress every morning.

If you are unable to make the meeting but would like to express an idea as to how to raise funds or what you would like to see PTA funds spent on then please have a word with a committee member/ or email one of us.

Christmas Fridays

Last week Year 1 managed to raise £50. This was no mean feat given that £150 was raised at lunch time for Children in Need. Well Done.

Christmas Cards

There have been a number of cards which have errors on them. If you have an issue with your cards, please return them to the School by Monday 24th November, clearly detailing what the problem is and we will endeavour to deal with it.

Christmas Fridays

You’ll have noticed that our usual Christmas Friday sales of sweets and cakes for the children has started – many congratulations to Year 3 who raised £75.27 last week and by the time you read this, you’ll have sampled Year 2’s treats! Next week it is the turn of Year 1. Please note that due to the level of noise in the playground disturbing Yr3, sales will not begin until 3.15pm!

Bag2School Collection : November 18th

Please don’t forget that the Bag2School collection is at 9am on Tuesday 18th November. Please bring your filled blue bags (or black bin liners if you have run out of blue bags) to the corner of Breach Lane and Langley Road between 8.30 and 9am on the Tuesday morning. Please remember that School cannot store filled bags so do not bring them in before Tuesday 18th.

PTA AGM : November 10th 7.30pm

The PTA AGM is next Monday, November 10th, at 7.30pm at School. We will be electing your PTA Committee for the next year and electing/confirming class representatives. Please come and join us at the AGM – remember that it is your PTA with the sole aim of supporting our children’s School (and having a good time in the process!).

As a reminder, the situation regarding the Committee posts is:

Vice-Chair Rachel Ollerenshaw is standing down

Secretary Sue Herbert is standing down

Treasurer Jenny Phillips is willing to continue

Many of us currently involved with the Committee have been so for the past three years and it is time for some fresh ideas and approaches – so over to you, otherwise the PTA will not be able to function!

We also want to confirm class rep for Years 4, 5 and 6, to support the Committee by co-ordinating support from the year group parents.

Ladies Night : November 13th 7.30pm

A final reminder that Ladies Night will be taking place next week from 7:30pm in Claverdon Church Centre.
Tickets will be on sale after school on Friday 7th November and are also available from your class rep and on the door on the evening. Tickets are £5 each which includes a glass of wine and nibbles. It is a great event for socialising, pampering and Christmas Shopping as well as raising funds for School! (Please note that all pampering and beauty treatments are booked on a first come first served basis - so arrive early to avoid disappointment!)

Bag2School Collection : November 18th

If you haven’t yet had your blue bag, or want more, for the Bag2School collection on the 18th, they are available from the School Office. Please remember that School can not store filled bags so do not bring them in before Tuesday 18th.
